Sun-Wizard Physical Specifications
- The main housing and dome are moulded with Sabic Lexan SLX Polycarbonate.
The Moulding Dies are Designed, and Built in Brisbane and engineered to achieve maximum strength, flexibility and transparency of the product by controlling the thickness of the material and radius of the corners as specified by the manufacturer.
The two components are assembled and locked together with 4 unique snap-in locking tabs that provide our engineered mechanical coupling and an EPDM O’ring located in a specified groove provides an all weather/ climate seal.
The O’ring fitment is engineered using expansion/contraction coefficients of the two products together with the O’ring fitment data and compatibility of both products.
An application of Flexible UV curing glue is applied to the tabs to complete the process and is mostly for a tamper proof protection.
- All internal moulded components, Base Assembly and Battery Compartment are of ABS Thermoplastic Polymer
Diffuser: The diffuser is engineered to support the Solar Panel, LED light assembly, antenna for the SRWF system and provide and contain light distribution to achieve a waste up light of no more than 4.3% without the use of add-on external accessories.
There are 3 arrangements for the diffuser.
- Spread Diffuser: This arrangement provides maximum subtle light distribution with maximum light spread and no more than 4.3% waste up light.
- Lower Black Diffuser: This arrangement provides for maximum down light distribution for lights mounted at a higher elevation.
- White Lower Diffuser: This arrangement provides of a small amount of up light to provide a mild “Wall Washer” effect
The diffuser has 6 light ports which are designed to allow maximum light distribution from the LED assembly without any interference or interruption of emitted light output or spread.
Base Assembly: The base assembly is arranged as clip together components that use a series of EPDM O’rings to seal the internal portion of the Sun-Wizard® from the environment and keep the mounting inserts completely removed from and affording no interference to the internal workings.
The base assembly also holds the Dress Ring and associated O’ring in place ( which prevents ingress of moisture into the top of the pole) and is an integral part of the Sun-Wizard® Light Head construction.
The lower base assembly also features 4 locking clips to accept the Battery Compartment and two locating guides to direct the fitment of the light head assembly into the pole so the mounting holes align with the threaded brass inserts.
Battery Compartment: The battery compartment houses the battery and control circuit PCB together with the POREX PTFE vent system that is designed to provide pressure control while keeping moisture and unwanted contaminates such as salts, oils and chemicals, for example, from entering the light head. The vent system is capable of providing in excess of IP67 protection.
- Aluminium Poles: The Marine Grade poles are designed to be aesthetically pleasing while adding strength and adaptability for a wide range of applications.
The poles are manufactured in Brisbane and machined by the manufacturer or in our workshop using our specifically adapted CNC equipment.
We have two classifications of poles,
Smooth Bore: Used for basic application or mounting over customer provided spigots
Ribbed Bore: Used when extra strength is required or for our 2.5 metre plus and multiple light head designed poles
We stock several standard lengths of anodized poles however poles are also supplied to customer requirements including length and options of mill finish or powder coating.
Ground Mount: Pole set in ground in a concrete footing. The depth and diameter of the footing depends on a number of factors including but not limited to: Site requirements, type of ground, engineering requirements, height and type of light pole. The pole is provided with a 10mm Dia anchor pin and it is recommended to coat the buried section of the pole with a bituminous coating inside and out to help prevent premature degradation of the pole due to contact with chemicals in the concrete
Spigot Mount: A marine grade spigot can be provided for mounting directly to existing concrete or timber footings using a single 25mm diameter bolt or similar device.
Flange Mount: A 180mm diameter x 10mm thick Marine grade aluminium flange with 4 x 10mm mounting holes can be supplied either welded to a spigot or directly to the base of the pole.
All welds are internal or on non exposed areas so all external joints and mating surfaces are neat and void of any unsightly welds. This process also aids in preventing porous areas that are prone to electrolysis when powder coated.
MOUNTING SCREWS : Mounting screws can be provided to suit the security requirements of our customer.
- Standard Screws: 6mm and 10mm stainless screws can be provide to the customers requirements. The standard screw provided is a pan head socket screw.
